Mrs. NC Goes To Hollywood - Los Angeles, California
The Dream Center, www.dreamcenter.org
I wanted to take a minute to say how wonderful it was to tour the
Dream Center and learn about the huge outreach ministry they are
providing. There are so many aspects to the facility...the center
provides a school for the children and teen residents, an area that
houses single mothers, a program that provides recovery from drugs and
alcohol, a food bank that reaches surrounding neighborhoods as well as
being a 24 hr church. The Dream Center also has several wonderful on
site diners and has a full kitchen staff, that volunteers, to prepare
meals for the residents. There is a fully equipped gym and basketball
court that allows the residents to stay active while in the process of
rebuilding their lives. The center exists solely on donations from
individuals as well as churches and businesses. The Dream Center is a
shelter for the homeless, but it gives its' residents a way to have
structure, and create fulfilling lives for themselves as they go
forward. Certainly out of respect for the residents I didn't take a lot
of photos, but the Dream Center is an amazing facility in all aspects!
Through these opportunities I truly am striving to be more grateful in
my life and to be aware of ways we can all give back...it has been a
great experience!
